Fraud in Employment

Fraud in employment, also referred to as "employment fraud" or "occupational fraud", occurs when an employer promises an employee certain wages and then fails to pay the employee as promised.  Fraud in employment usually happens to people who are desperately seeking wages and who will commit to doing a job and/or task without a legally binding agreement regarding their compensation.

Employment fraud is a huge scam that gives workers false hope and empty promises.  Often times, fraud in employment scammers will give employees attractive offers that may involve flexible hours, long breaks, high wages, or easy work in general.  Because the offer is so attractive, employees readily agree to work for the employer without thinking about how they will be paid, when they will be paid, or how often they will be paid.  Seeing there is no written employment contract between the employee and employer, it is very easy for the employer to have the employee work for an extended period of time, and then fail to pay the employee for his/her hard work.

Often times, victims of fraud in employment think they cannot seek legal action because they only had a verbal agreement between themselves and their employers.  However, even though the agreement was purely verbal, there are other ways in which a person can prove that he/she was a victim of occupational fraud.  The key to proving employment fraud lies in hiring the right lawyer.
